Well, what better way to start into leading than jumping on a little 5.9R. I had just flash the route seconding my partner, and have been TR tons of 5.9's...So jumped on this thing. This is Cow Patty Bingo (5.9R).

This climb is amazing, I didn't want it to end! It had everything - starting with a couple of technical vertical moves to some really balancy slab moves to a nice layback crack to juggy overhangs to a small roof. 13 bolts worth of fun!

This is N8's girlfriend Alex. This was the first time she had ever tried to do any climbing (except at the fair). She was wearing her Tennis shoes too...and still made the climb.

This was the first time Bobbi climbed outside. She climbed this .7 and a .5 on her first attempts. The only problem was the wind that hampered us the whole day.
At Frenchmans Coulee, N8 took the pic with our camera.

Queen Creek Canyon AZ is full of wonderful routes like this classic route on the South Atlantis wall. "Grumpy After Eight" (10a) is a great climb for anyone trying to do their first 5.10. The holds are obvious and the slight overhand and exposure make for that sweet adrenaline rush we all crave.

A route called "Neptune "(10a) on the North Atlantis wall of Queen Creek's beautiful rock. This route is a pumpy route up great rock with almost every type of feature, including a great dihedral finish onto an exposed face. This place is a climbing paradise!

This is me CAREFULLY starting up to the first bolt on Bunny Face (5.7) which, like most climbs at Smith, has the first bolt WAY off the deck.

This shot was taken August 2002 at the Southern most wall of Cinque Torri called Torre Grande. The route is near Spit Express route but I can't remember the exact name. I think it was rated 8b - 13'ish. The climber was some 40'ish year old Spanish stud that smoked.

Here is me half way up the route posing for a picture of course...a pretty easy route. The fun part of the route is talking with your belay man when all you know is english and and all he knows is spanish...I can sure make up words that sound like they are spanish.

Getting ready to rappel on Queue de Lion (5.8). Great all-around climb with a bit of everything (face, overhang, crack), and a tough first clip which made me nervous of the factor 2 fall (due to the hanging belay).
