A friend took this black and white of me while I was rope soloing the huge Kansas City roof at the Gunks. It is either a hard 5.12 free climb, or a wonderful A1 crack with bomber gear. I am hanging completely horizontal in the picture.

Doug Widdis (polarwid) avoiding the top ropes while soloing a 5.6 crack on Owl's Head in the Adirondacks. There are some great face and crack climbs at this small crag located a short hike from the road. As you can see the views are awesome too! Photo

Doug Widdis (polarwid) on Nosedive in the Shawangunks. I am just passing the crux first roof, which protects very well. The scary climbing comes up above where you have to layback an overhanging crack and can't hang to place pro. Photo by Mike Cono.
