About NSA (New South Africa):

NSA is 5km from anywhere in East London. Routes number 18 and range from 17-24 (5.7-5.11c). Routes are bolted and trad. Rock type is sedimentary/mud stone. Development of this crag was instigated by Jochen Gantert's enthusiasm. We explored NSA after exploring the NATO crag at Nahoon Mouth. It was really vegetated, but after much cutting, cleaning and clearing we found some awesome routes. It's called NSA because in the local township, Cambridge Location, you could see the New South Africa - new schools and new houses in action.
Nearest town or city: East London
Directions: Take the Western Avenue turn-off the N2 and turn right towards Cambridge under the rail bridge. Under the rail bridge, turn right towards the High Gate Hotel. Turn right into Baden Powell Road and drive down the hill for +-1,5km and then right onto dirt track. Turn left after 50m onto another dirt track which leads to a car park. Follow path into dense bush over river bed to rock face - 200m hike.
