About Fob Freedom:

If anyone is destined for Mosul, Iraq, there is decent traverse bouldering on the stone walls on FOB Freedom (AKA D-Main, or whatever they are calling Sadam's old palace in NE Mosul). The walls are about 2 meters high, made out of limestone blocks, on the east side of the FOB, across the street from the civil affairs building near the gate. Pretty far from perfect climbing, but some of the walls are 20-meters long, so at least there is space to practice.
