About Mt. Kinabalu:

Mt. Kinabalu is located in the Sabah province of Malaysia, on Borneo. While the lower reaches of the mountain serve as a botany nerd's dream, it is the uppr reaches that captures the hearts and imaginations of climbers. The summit plateau is a complex and exposed collection of granite spires, peaks and chasms (such as the 2km deep Lowe's Gully). The rock is excellent, however crack systems tend to be rare--those that exist tend to be flared. Nevertheless this is a spectacular and adventurous place to climb.
