About Khao Yoi:

About an hour and a half South of Bangkok. Good limestone, bolted sport routes (20+, grade ranges from F5+ - F7+ although most routes are in the F6a/b/c range) and lots of potential to fill in all those as yet unclimbed top pitches. www.simonfoley.com for an electronic copy of a topo of the crag. Also check out www.bongkak.com for a free list of routes, which gives infomation on grades, height, number of clips and anchors and when the routes where bolted. The crag is very popular at weekends, so you're likely to find friendly and knowledgeable climbers who can provide data onsite. If you don't want to take any risks guides, instructors, and equipment rental can be hired from Bangkok; contact Khun Rungsan at Bangkok Rock Climbing (BRC) Tel. (662)434-6100, (661)819-7458 Fax. (662)435-5797 Email: rockcamp@asiaaccess.net.th Last but not least, you'll be in the shade except at the top of the routes so suncream is not necessary BUT mosquito repellents is a must!! Also there are Monkeys!!! Beware!!! Many of the bolts on this crag are now very old and they are showing signs of corrsion!!! MANY OF THE ANCHORS ARE DANGEROUS!!!! ALSO BECAREFUL WITH SOME BOLTS!! Khun Tom from Proclimber has re-bolted 2 or 3 routes with glue-ins but the anchors still haven't be change. Please climb with care!!!!
