Follow the road from Yellow Pinch carpark all the way to the end, follow track up from end of road. There is a small traverse at top of Peasants to take you to the notch between East Paek and West Peak of Mt. Barney. There are a couple of rock bands to negotiate but with care they can be surmounted easily. Once at the top it is a very short stroll into the well used campground of Rum Jungle. Water is usually found a short distance away in Barney Gorge. To find your way to the start of the top of South East Ridge from East Peak, it is necessary to walk towards the east until you find an indistinct track leading across the very top of the East Face. Keep the East Face to your left and stay on track. Don`t veer off to the right at any time going down the ridge until you encounter the large logging track.
