The Bachelor Pad is primarily a bouldering area and is home to Adelaide's toughest problems. The Pad is something of a pocket dynomo, being a small but very steep, overhanging crag with a large roof. The rock at the Pad is quite unlike that of nearby Norton Summit, being more akin to Grampians sandstone than the local quartzite. The Pad has seen the likes of Sharik Walker, Klem Loskot and Trevor Pearce develop problems ranging in difficulty from V1 to V13. There are two short bolted lines here for those who can be bothered to lug their rope and draws up the very steep walk in, a task that is not for the faint hearted! Beware of the Pad when its raining, the uphill track is more like a mudslide and has probably seen its fair share of victims, particularly on the descent.
