About Hawks Head:

Hawks Head is situated about 30 minutes drive from Kalbarri (in Kalbarri National Park). The lookout itself is very scenic with beautiful views of the Murchison River and gorge. There are two climbs to the left of the lookout, but most of the climbs are on a small cliff about 200m to the right.

This place is a nice alternative to the Zbend gorge with a much shorter walk-in, although it is abseil access only to the bottom of the climbs. The climbs are in the lower-mid range and are all trad. If you go in peak holiday season, you may often find tourists pointing and waving to you from the lookout. Also beware of little midgies when it gets late, bring some insect repellant.

There is no camping at the cliff. However there is plenty of accomodation in Kalbarri from camping sites to holiday chalets. The best time to climb is winter/spring. Summer will be very hot.
