About Waxenberg:

Great Sport routes up to 27m meters long. 58 Lines currently developed, with 5 seperate sections. Lots of hard lines in there, lots more development/top rope oppurtunities. Some trad lines available, but primarily all the good trad lines have been bolted. It was kindof funny to see, but there were a bunch of old school pitons and stuff that had been hammered in. I even found an old wooden piton stem in one line. I hope nobody is clipping any of those for pro. I also noticed that there were one or two anchors bolted into place for multi-pitch ascents. Good place to learn about multipitch. Note, some of the bolts are rather old, and I'd think twice about which ones to use. Difficulty starts at 5.6 and goes up to 5.13. When we were there, we asked the local farmers if we could camp in their fields, and eventually found one who said yes. Most climbers apparently stay at the Inns in the area. Not sure if there are any in town.
Nearest town or city: Linz
Directions: Drive to Waxenberg, northwest of Linz, until you reach the parking for the ruins. You'll see a store called Generali, park at that parking lot. Two ways to get up to the crags: 1) walk up to the castle ruins and find the rock from there or 2) Left of generali, there is a path leading into the woods which leads you to the crags.
