About Mönschberg:

Mainly a bouldering venue, though there are a couple of bolts. It´s an old stone wall which feels like a real cliff because of the numerous pockects and stones compressed into it. The traverse from one end to the other and then back again is quite strenous, but good at an average grade of English 5a, with some sections harder and some easier. Probably about 30m long, so there and back is at least 60m. Climbing vertically the direct routes are all around 4c-5c, though it´s quite easy to make your own problems at higher grades. The top-out looks a bit loose, and probably not worth it. Mostly about 6-8m high.
Nearest town or city: -It´s in Salzburg itself
Directions: From the Altstadt in Salzburg, climb up one of the paths leading up Mönschberg. The wall is to the left of a path that leads roughly west from the festung (castle).
