About High Crag(OS):

A very nice crag, but it can get cold. The rock tends to be very sound and clean. About 50 routes in all grades, with some classics in the VS to E1 range. 100 to 200 feet tall and worth a visit in nice weather.
Nearest town or city: Buttermere
Directions: OS 89&90 GR NY 183 139 Alt. 573m
2 miles SSE of Buttermere. Take the B5289 for 2 miles to the end of the lake at Gatesgarth. From here a path leads by the end of the lake and south to the valley. Take the left path up the valley and the crag is on the right at the top of the valley after a thirty minute walk.
