About East Ham Leisure Centre:

Phone: 020 8548 5850. Small and fairly basic climbing wall situated within a leisure centre. Doesn't quite compare to dedicated climbing walls like Mile End or the Westway but the atmosphere is pretty chilled and people are friendly. 22 top-roped panels 9.5m high, including 4 with roofs (2.5m overhang), and a 3.5m high bouldering area. All panels are bolted, so for those who have the inclination to lead, the facility is there. Routes are changed fairly often. Regulars to the wall get emailed updates whenever there's been a route change. Opening Times: Monday - Friday 7.00am - 10.00pm, Saturday and Sunday 8.00am - 5.00pm
Nearest town or city: London
Address:
Directions: To get there by public transport, turn left out of East Ham station and walk straight down the High Street until you come to the main junction with Barking Road. Directly in front of you is the Town Hall. Cross the junction and turn left through the small set of gates, or left along the pavement. Walk the length of the building and when you get to the main gates, look right and you'll see the leisure centre - it's a great big glass fronted building set back from the Town Hall.
