High Neb
About High Neb:
High Neb is the highest point above sea level of Stanage Edge. Approach via the ancient Roman road of the causeway. After a few hundred metres there is a stile on the left. This is well before the causeway heads steeply uphill to the right. Take the path over the stile and follow it through the Bracken uphill to the base of a prominent group of Buttresses. High Neb Buttress takes the obvious slim pillar near the point of arrival. To its right is an inset slabby area and then the steeper Cave Buttress which is topped by an overhang. To the left of High Neb Buttress is the prominent overhang taken by Quietus. Left again is another slab bounded by a chimney on the right and the corner of Inaccessible crack on the left. The routes here are some of the finest on grit, enjoy! |
