About Gordale Scar(OS):

One of the most impressive crags in Britain!!! If you are not an E6 leader, don't be daunted by the massive scale of these overhanging walls, for there are many easier routes on the walls outside the gorge, and they catch a lot of sun. The gorge has a waterfall running through it, but during the summer the river dries up and the walls dry out giving some of the most demanding routes in the country. They are nearly all single or double pitch E6 or E7 climbs. The outer walls do have about 100 routes from Diff to E1, some over 100 feet tall, but the gorge is over 200 feet, with an average of E5. Awesome visit just for the view of these cliffs.
