About Annot - La Piste d'Argenton (bouldering):

Annot is the Fontainebleau of Provence, 75 minutes NW of Nice: many sandstone boulders in a forest made of pine trees and chestnut trees, at an elevation of 4500 ft. And also a sandstone cliff, unfortunately manufactured, but we are in France! BTW, don't manufacture holds on the boulders, don't use metallic brushes because the rock is fragile.
The main differences with Bleau, are, according to the french magazines, the shape of the boulders (mainly like mushrooms, so take care when you get off of the boulders), the bigger grain of the sandstone with sometimes chossy starts (this coarse grain is responsible for the bad climbing conditions after rains), the kind of holds (more holes than in Bleau), the quietness, the better climate. The boulders are usually high, so use a crashpad.

check this website : http://www.abloc.org/index.php, which provides an online topo.

Bivys are OK, real camping is forbidden, but no fire allowed due to the fragility of the forest.
Park so the cars and trucks can still drive on the path.
Don't pick up mushrooms, a special permit is required here. ANd don't ask me why, I've no idea!
