About Pantalica:

Wonderful limestone canyon carved with 5,000 graves from the bronze age. The climbing itself is not the best of Sicily but the area deserves a trip by itself (possible swim in the natural pools).
Nearest town or city: Sortino (Siracusa)
Directions: The climbing book is correct. Coming from Sortino and following the Pantalica directions, you'll end at a wood fence (dead end road) where you park. After a few meters, there's a large sign descripting the area (WARNING : the numbers of the pictures DO NOT always match the numbers on the map!!!, so don't be afraid, you are just 10 minutes from the Bat Cave or Grotta dei Pipistrelli). Walk 10 minutes (while walking, you see the cave down on your left), look for Bat Cave painted in red on the white limestone path, proceed down on the old steps carved in the rock : the cave is right down these steps while the left section (on the book) is 2 minutes to the south. To go the NOrth Face, stay on the path instead of going down the steps, walk 5 more minutes, cross the river at its meander by following the red marks.
