About Sanctuaria - San Vivaldo:

Bolted routes on conglomerate rock up to 27m in length. A 60m rope is recommended, the rock can be sharp in places, so one with a tough sheath is best. Difficulty ratings lie in between 4-7 (UIAA) and I found the climbs often a grade or two harder than what I normally climb due to the rock type. It's sharp, and in places slippery. Great footholds on most climbs though. Mostly near vertical stuff, with a couple cracks, and one or two slabs. Great for combining with a day visit to Volterra/San Gimigiano. Oh yeah, a GREAT VIEW!
Nearest town or city: Castelfiorentino
Directions: Drive to San Vivaldo, and then follow signs for Iano, just past town on the left hand side is a road with the signs for Sanctuaria. Follow this road all the way to the top (it gets steep and turns to gravel at one point). Park there and walk to the convent. Pass the convent on the right hand side, and look for a path (steep) downhill. There is a fixed rope at one point to help you get down/up.
