About 01. French Border (col du Forclaz and around Martigny):

This section covers the Swiss remains of Mt Blanc chain, like Trient and Saleina glaciers and Mont Dolent. Further areas around Martigny and the col du Forclaz are included. You can do mountaineering routes - most of the time much less crowded than its Chamonix counterparts, rock climbing on sport-bolted pitches (see Barberine) or some awesome 100 to 200m ice climbing in winter in Trient. In Massongex you will find a variety of boulder problems and some short but challenging sport climbs too.
