Mt.Ararat (Mt.Agri as its local name) is located in Agri, close to the eastern border of Turkey. It is the highest mountain in Turkey with its 5137 mt of altitude. There has been lots of tales about this mountain. The most known legend is that the Noah's Ark is located on the summit of Mt. Ararat. There has been some international expeditions in 60's, searching for the ruins of the ark. After late 80's, climbing on Mt.Ararat was forbidden by the government because of the situation of terrorism. Since the late 90's, climbing to Mt.Ararat is possible again and it's getting more and more populer by the climbers all around the world.
PS: There is no rock climbing possibility on this mountain.
