About Kyiv or Kiev:

Kyiv is Ukraine's biggest city and it's also its capital. It stands on the Dnipro river and is the biggest tourist destination in Ukraine. It is praised for its historic monuments, some dating back to Kyivska Rus' empire of the VII-XIIIth centuries, considered the Slavic Mother of current Russia, Ukraine and Bielorussia.

It also houses Ukraine's national climbing team and thus has several training facilities.
