About Twll Mawr - The Big Hole(OS):

This is the quarry that is definately worth a visit. The West Wall has some of the most amazing routes near Llanberis, if not in Wales. The Quarryman is almost 300 feet of E8, and seems to need levitation just to get off the ground. The North wall offers 700 foot long routes with grades from VS to E4. Well worth the time and effort to reach this area.
Nearest town or city: Llanberis
Directions: OS115--GR598/601 Head back down the road ffrom the parking area to the trail across from the bridge to Llanberis. Up the trail to the fork and go right, and follow this for about 1000 yards until you reach a junction, where you head right and walk for another 1000 yards to a gap in the ridge. Past this you will see an incredible hole in the ground. Make your way to the bottom and climb your way out if you can.
