About Introduction to South East Wales:

The climbing is South East Wales has long remained undiscovered, partly because it is not all that good. Even so, if one is willing to put up with less than the best of Wales, a lot of enjoyment can be found in the area. The rock in most parts is limestone of semi-poor quality, with occasional outcrops of other rock types, but even these usually leave something to be desired. The best climbing in the area is at Ogmore, but one has to contend with large tides and difficult routes. The region does come into its own, though, when bouldering is taken into consideration. The large, crumbly cliffs often have good bases on which to boulder around. Always bring at least your boots to the South East, expect little, and you may leave surprised.
