About Mount Bogart:

I wouldn't want to do it in the winter. It is a 10 hour hike for the average hiker, it could be done in 7 hours or less by the speedy type. There is a nice campsite about 1.5 hours hike in, an 1 hour hike to some nice looking potentially climbable cliffs. I'm not sure if anyone has climbed them yet, some look really scarry. You can see what I am talking about in the pictures attached. One neat thing about these high mountains is that above 8000 feet or so, many of the loos rocks have fossilised coral easily visible in them, it is really neat to think that this land was one under the oceans. oh yea there is a nice cold river that runs right by the parking lot, great place to keep your beer cold for the end of a long day :)

Nearest town or city: Kananaskis
Directions: Mount Bogart is a semi-tehnical scramble. There are a few places where less experianced hikers might want a rope, or a sturdy balancing aid, such as a ski pole. There is a parking lot at the bottom which is for both Mt Bogart and Ribbon Falls trails. It is a 45 minute walk along a access road to the start of the hiking trail, it is recommended that a bike is used for this part, and there is a bike rack at the trail head for this. From the trail head Start hiking up the ribon falls trail for about an hour you will come across the ribbon falls camp site. keep following the trai, you will come around the back of the mountain and see a dried creek bed (in the summer). Go up the creek untill you reach the bowl of the mountain. see picture (hopefully it will be uploaded shortly). hike up here however you want since there isn't really any trail. hopefully you will find an easy way to the top, I know comming down was easier, the skree is prety nice.
