Description:

From the end of the Upper Coldwater FSR, follow the deactivated FSR to the trailhead and follow the trail to the Vicuna-Guanaco Col. From the col, head straight up the Northeast Ridge of Vicuna. There is a fixed chain in place at the crux, but you don't have to use it. Descend the route. Some people have chosen to rap the route. An alternative heads left before the chain to avoid difficulties. The alternative, is dirtier, more exposed and IMHO worse. 4th class.

Nice route. Snow started at 2000m. Kind of wet with no views. I'd like to come back when the weather is better. Combined it with the SW ridge of Guanaco for a nice day in the hills.
