The rock in Cheakamus Canyon seems to be steeper than that of Squamish "proper", and has more sporty face climbing than trad. Cheakamus Canyon is home to Canada's current hardest sport climb, "Captian America" 5.14 b/c, and Canada's first 5.14, "Pulse" 5.14a!

Directions: Cheakamus Canyon is about 20km North of Squamish on the gighway to Whistler. Some areas are visible from the road, but many are not so a guidebook is very useful.
