Description:

Cats Bite / About 6 pitches / 5.8 / minus *** stars FA: Andy Durie, Brian Pegg / September 2000 A truly horrible climb, perfect for the sadist/masochist climber team. Climbs a nasty-looking gully between the Kitten and a larger, brushy crag to the west. One of those routes where getting a soaker is a true objective hazard. Mostly fourth and easy fifth class, but the crux involves oozing mud, moss and a stream running off a huge chockstone. This route was Andy Durie’s idea, and after our descent, Andy went for an unplanned, fingernail-searing 100 m slide down late spring snow in the Kitten Gully to pay for his hubris. Would be much better as an ice climb.
