About Lower Benson:

Lower Benson Bluffs is one continuous cliff line divided in the middle by a steep access trail. The wall to the left is a single pitch wall varying in height. The wall to the right is higher with two distinct pitches divided by a wide ledge. There is potential for many more routes.
Nearest town or city: Nanaimo
Directions: Lower Benson Bluffs i is the newest area in Nanaimo located on the northeast side of Mt Benson. Turn left onto Kilpatrick Road from Jinglepot Road 3.3 kms west of the Nanaimo Parkway intersection. About 1.7 kms up Kilpatrick Road turn right onto Benson View Road. Drive up the hill 1.5 kms to the end of the road and park. It takes about 20 min to hike to the crag. Follow the trail beyond the end of the road around Witchcraft lake crossing a foot bridge at the outlet creek. About 20m further keep right avoiding the other foot bridge across the inlet creek. Follow the overgrown road. At 100m the route turns left onto a connector trail that leads to another overgrown road. Follow this right for about 1km. When the cleared part of the old road ends turn left onto a rough trail marked with flagging tape. 150m further the trail intersects the middle of the cliff down low. The steep trail left has several fixed lines and leads to the top access trail. The steep trail right leads to the base of the two pitch section of the wall.
