From the Russet Lake Hut, descend the outflow creek beneath Fissile Peak. Climb the major couloir on the NW side of Fissile peak. It is the last major couloir before the buttress that separates the NW face from the N face. At it's steepest, the couloir gets to be about forty five degrees, but looks much steeper from the hut! Once you climb the couloir, scramble up the ridge to the summit. To descend you can continue on the knife edge ridge to the Fissile-Whirlwind Col or scramble back down the ridge you came up then boot ski down the chossy SW face.

Fun climb. We didn't use ropes or pro, but took them for a nice walk. Great boot ski down the South side. Found some fossils in the choss on the South side of the peak.
