About Squaw Bay:
| SQUAW BAY Located along Lake Superior, south of the city, Squaw Bay offers a fine array of 1 and 2 pitch climbs. No top-roping here. For those climbers seeking a more ground up traditional style, this is the place to be. Great exposure, spectacular views and shear respect for the first ascents that involved 100-200 feet of cleaning and brushing off of lichen. Imagine doing Zig Zag 7 times in a row before you finish. Cliffs are not always clear of loose rocks though so take care on route of belayers and other parties [HELMETS RECOMMENDED]. The main area of development is on two sets of cliffs that stretch from Squaw Bay for approx. 4 km along a dirt road.
