About Golden Canyon:

One of the most spectacular and easily accessible granite outcrops in Southern Yukon. This picturesque canyon is less than one hours drive from Whitehorse, with tons of bouldering and numerous single pitch climbs mostly in the 5.8 to 5.11 range. There is still a lot to explore here, and two smaller side canyons parallel both sides of Golden Canyon, with many unclimbed and challenging lines still awaiting first ascents.
Nearest town or city: Whitehorse
Directions: From Whitehorse, head north on Alaska Highway #1 to the Klondike Highway #2. Go north on this for about 10KM until you reach Takhini Hot Springs Road on your left. Turn here and go about another 10 KM to Takhini River Road. Take a left here and go a little over 13KM to a small pullout and a large pond on your right. Look north to the canyon, and follow the trail around the pond. A ten minute walk leads to the main canyon, explore around for the large amounts of unclimbed rock in the area.
