Granite Tors
Climbing Sections:
- Lizard's Eye (2)
About Granite Tors:
| A cluster of granite domes and spires a couple of hours off the road. Take water in the summer, it can get warm. The Tors in the trees are good on the colder and windy days. |
| Nearest town or city: | Chena Hot Springs |
| Directions: | Take Chena Hot Springs Road to Mile 39 and park at the campground on the left side of the road. There is a maintained loop trail that accesses the area. Cross the road and bridge and look for a trail on the south bank of the Chena. As you leave the riverside the trail forks, and the right fork leads to the most developed rock after a couple of hours of hiking. The left fork takes you to North Tor and East Tor Island Group. Rock 1 and the Lizard's Eye can be done with an early start, but the distant Tors are usually an overnight trip. |
