This strenuous 4.5 mile trail is the primary access to the Harding Icefield. The trail starts at the toe of Exit Glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park. It winds up the north edge of Exit Glacier, offering spectacular views of the glacier and surrounding mountains along the way. At the trail's end it's ice ice ice as far as the eye can see. Camping is permitted at the end of the trail only, and free registration for an overnight permit is required at the ranger station at the trailhead. Once at the icefield, pick a direction for as much glacier trekking as your little heart desires!
