About Ram Valley:

Ram Valley is tucked between Cumulus Mountain and Raina Peak, and is nearly walled in from the east by Mount Korohusk. The eastern end of the valley contains the dying island of ice that many thousands of years ago carved the valley and connected with Eagle Glacier in Eagle River Valley. It offers beautiful hiking and access to several mountaineering routes, as well as ice routes on Raina and Peeking in the wintertime. Access to Peter's Creek Valley, Mount Rumble, the Wallstreet Glacier, Belicose Peak, the Raisin Glacier, the Northern slopes of Kiliak and Yukla, and more can be gained by hiking through Bombardment Pass at the east end of Ram Valley. Access to the valley itself can be tricky. Much of the land used to gain entry to the valley is on private property, and trespassers are not welcome! While there are doubtless a couple other ways to do it, I prefer to access the valley by parking somewhere near the top of Prudhoe Bay Drive (or whatever it turns into after a few hairpin turns) and bushwhacking until I am on the wooded ridge on the north side of the creek draining from the valley. A network of small game trails and vaguely visible hiking trails eventually culminate into one obvious trail that leads past a ruined cabin. Staying on this trail leadspast a serene alpine lake and all the way to an impressive rock glacier. You can hike accross the scree to the end of the valley and climb over Bombardment Pass into Peter's Creek Valley, or descend by via the southern slopes of or Mount Cumulus into Eagle River Valley near the Visitor's Center.
