About Road House Crags:

This is the first climbing area you'll run into on the way into Archangel. It's off to the left up the hill as you're going down Archangel Road maybe a half-mile from the pavement. Just look up, you can't miss it. The Jurassic Boulder stands out in front of the cliff band. Hike up through the alders and brush.

NOTE: Eagles nest on these cliffs in the springtime. Keep an eye out and be sure you're not intruding. Jurassic boulder is always free if the nests on the wall are occupied.

If you hike up from the right of the crag it may be easier. This area is at a much lower elevation than the rest of the valley, so it is generally the first to dry out and open up in the spring, when the rest of the climbs are still covered in snow. Should be dry to climb by around mid to late May at least. For a topo of the area, check out the online guide atr
