Description:

The Prong is in the same area as the Hand and the Tower. It is the tallest of the three pinnacles. Approach is the same as the Tower but continue heading left (as you face the main wall) or southeast until you are between the main wall and the "Prong Complex". Continue right (as you face the main wall) or west until you reach the saddle between the main wall and the "Prong Complex". The Prong is the largest pinnacle to the west. Approach by climbing on rock ramps and some down climbing until you are at the base of a 4th class slab on the east side of the Prong. Climb this to a large ledge on the north side of the Prong. Climb the short wide crack on the north side. Rap off a tied off block above some vegetation and a dead tree. May need to bring some long webbing to beef up this rap anchor as of late December 2002. Look for the aluminum "Los Banditos" bolt hanger and see if there is room to scratch your name.
