About Tomahawk Boulders:
| There are four developed boulders with one semi-developed boulder and MANY more coming. Although a crash pad is sufficient, each high boulder has a bolt on top for a simple top rope. These boulders have been used for many years by local climbers. (Warning: Undeveloped areas have lots and lots and lots of lose rock so climb at your own risk). This is a great area for after school/work climbing if you have limited time, or to get a work out besides the gym. |

| Directions: | Take Brown Rd. all the way east to the intersection of Idaho Rd. and follow that north till McKellips Rd. Turn right (heading east) till Mckellips intersects N. Cortez Rd. in Apache Junction. Turn north onto N. Cortez Rd. and follow that all the way north till it intesects E. Saddle Butte Rd. Continue to follow it north till the road ends. Park in the gravel area and then hike up the trail to the Butte and obvious boulders on the hill side. If you want a satelite picture of the area, go to www.maps.google.com. This is the only way I found it. Hope these directions are more useful. |
