Description:

Start at crack on the left side of the dome. Climb this to large ledge. Climb face past a few bolts to a two bolt anchor. Climb slab up and right past some chicken heads to a belay between two trees. Climb the face to the right to a two bolt belay. Cimb 150' of third class to the summit. Rap the route starting at the two bolt anchor. This first rap is tricky. Look for good tree hidden by small buttress. Don't get suckered into rapping off the small tree.

4 out of 5 stars Watch your ropes

Stout hike to the base. Climb is dirty from scant traffic in places. We got our ropes stuck while rapping down and had to prusik back up -- watch your knots!

0 out of 5 stars Ascent Note

One of the few climbs in the Catalinas that has crack! First pitch (trad) is the crux pitch. It begins with crack and ends on nice ledge. Second pitch (sport/trad) is licheny and slabby. Third pitch (trad/sport) is a little scary for pro. You can link up the third and fourth pitch if you have a seventy meter rope. Fourth pitch(sport) ends on slabby face. Occasional loose rock here and there. Don't trust the dirt ledges for support. Be careful on the rap down. The knot of our rope got caught on a ledge and nothing could free it but a lot of prusik. Approach is a lot longer than thirty minutes. Try hour to two hours (depends on your hiking finesse). Nice climbing though. Beautiful view of Catalina and beyond.
