Description:
Hand crack on face, around the corner left of Hackberry I just dropped the rating to 5.8, which is what the book says. Others say easier than that. Can't believe someone listed it as a 9. Much easier than Hackberry which went at "5.9-" on the Hell score sheet.

easy for an 8
climbed it in 30 degree weather.
i thought it was a little easy for a 5.8 crack.

Pretty crack. A #3 camalot will fit anywhere on the route.

Piss my pants
This was my first 5.8 trad lead and it gave me a good scare, but enjoyed it non-the-less. I wish I had a sack full of #3's for this route. Protection was rather difficult too, seemed to be hard to find good constrictions to place cams in.
Definitely a 5.8 climb though. Don't listen to the 5.7 sand baggers ;)

Great crack!
Belay positions suck, especially if you are going to be taking a lot. Suggest to protect low enough to keep both of you from going down the hill, if something goes wrong. BONUS: TECHNIQUE--> the hand jam technique with the back of your hand totally against the surface of the rock and pressing you fingers against the wall, then squeezing your thumb to your palm to increase the meat size on the thumb. No taping is required on this route using this. Seconded this route no problems. I will be back once I have started leading trad. It is a good trad lead.
