About Herrod's Creek:
| 12 sport routes progressing from 5.8+ to 5.13a. 100% fixed draws and quick-shut anchors (no quickdraws required). All routes are less than 45 feet tall (requiring only a 30-meter rope) and tend to be steep, powerful, and bouldery. This is an excellent after-work power training crag, located about an hour from Ft. Smith, Fayetteville, and Russellville. |
| Nearest town or city: | Byrd's Adventure Center |
| Directions: | From Byrd’s Adventure Center (located 6 miles east of Cass on Arkansas Hwy 215) travel east on Hwy 215 for 0.3 of a mile and turn north on Beech Grove Road. Travel this gravel road for 2.2 miles (stay left at the Y) and turn left on a small road hidden in the trees. (This easily missed opening is found shortly after crossing a rocky streambed. You’ve passed it if you reach the end of the gravel road.) Park in the field and hike down to the crag via a short trail found near the large central tree. Please remove all litter, don’t build fires, and leave the routes exactly as you find them. Parking area is sticky when wet. |
