Description:

Great Class 3 chute. Take the northern Moraine directly north of Red Lake. Head up and then west up the Northern Chute. Continue up the glacier until you hit the ridgeline. Follow the ridgeline South to the top. Loose rock and boulders abound the top so be careful. You can see the Palisades to the North and all of the Owen's Valley

The first of my CA 14000 foot Ascents. It is one of the most inaccessible 14ers in California, but well worth it. The crux during the early season is definitely cramponing up the glacier. I would highly recommend this route.
