About Evolution Basin(North):

This gorgeous wilderness basin covers from Piute Pass on the east to the South Fork of the San Joaquin River on the west. The northern boundary is marked by Piute Creek. The Goddard Divide forms the dividing line between North and South Evolution Basin. The Goddard Divide runs from Mt. Goddard to Mt. Wallace in the east. This is one of the wildest areas of the Sierra Nevada with a large part of the area unmarred by trails.

Directions: Accessed by Piute Pass from North Lake out of Bishop,. It can also be reached from further south by going over Bishop Pass from South Lake, also out of Bishop.
