| Directions: | Get driving directions to Panamint, CA (NOT Panamint Springs). When you reach the parking lot pack your gear and hike 5.6 miles to the Panamint City ghost town. From Panamint City hike 1.3 miles ENE by following the main drainage to the base of the first tower (Sym Tower). | Access Issues: | Strenuous 7 mile approach with approximately 5000' elevation gain. Prepare for at least 5 hour approach time. There are cabins in Panamint City with cots so you can go a bit lighter by not bringing a tent or sleeping pad. Water is also available via piped spring. |
