About Stumps, The:

The Stumps is a traditional climbing area near the town of Mammoth Lakes. The climbing is on featured, pocketed volcanic rock. In addition to the roped climbing, there is also a small bouldering area to the right of the cliffs.
Nearest town or city: Mammoth Lakes
Directions: From US 395, turn east on Owens River road. After just over two miles, turn left onto Forest Service road 2S04. Drive past the Big Springs campground and continue for about a mile and a half. Turn left onto 2S03 and drive until the road ends in an amphitheater, less than two miles. The cliffs will be immediately apparent.
