The Sponge
About The Sponge:
|
The Sponge is an aesthetically pleasing, pretty sizeable (for Pinnacles) rock. Located "200 yards beyond the Condor Crags steps," (Rubine) The Sponge boasts easy single pitch climbs on great rock.
From the summit of this little perch, you have panoramic views of the western part of Pinnacles NM. Rock is quite solid, a rarity here, but if you get off route you'll find some crumblies. All three routes here (Regular Route, Direct NE Face, Holes) get one or two stars in Rubine's guidebook. |
