About Outer Mongolia:

This is one of the northern most areas in the North Wonderland area from the North Wonderland Trail. Lots of stellar climbing in a wilderness setting and some of the best summit views in the park. Rarely will you see another party climbing and the cliffs here stay hot. Great for a cold weekend outing.
Approach: Park at the Boyscout's Trail from the main park boulevard. Follow the Boyscout's Trail for about 30 minutes until the trail splits again. Take the trail to the right, which is the North Wonderland trail. Follow this trail for another 15 minutes until you see Access Fund signage for the Outer Mongolia area on the left. The most classic formation here is the Siberia Buttress, which hosts four classics from 5.9 to 5.10a.

Access Issues: No pets allowed in the wilderness areas of Joshua Tree. Tread lightly and stay on established trails. Look for Access Fund signage.
