About Wonderland of Rocks (North):

While most people spend their time in the southern portion of the Wonderland, there are some amazing routes and formations here. Expect to walk a bit more here as well as do more boulder hoppping, but the extra effort will get you away from the crowds and onto some great lines. Classics here include - No Self Respect (5.10b) a Yosemite style crack in a flare, The Last Unicorn (5.11a) a bold two pitch line up the south face of the Super Dome, Hyperion Arch (5.11c) an elegant sweeping crack up the west face of the Grey Giant, Ionic Strength (5.12a) a spectacular balancy arete up a giant boulder and The Thrill Of Desire (5.12c) a steep stemming corner.
Nearest town or city: Joshua Tree
Directions: Park at Key's Corner and follow the trail north towards the Wonderland. Partway out the trail intersects the old road and a bit further the Boy Scout Trail branches off left. Stay on the path as it heads north then east and soon the Ivory Tower will come into view. Approaches vary from minutes to hours...take your pick. Remember - this is a day use only area so get out by dark.
