About Big Chief:
| Sitting high on a ridge outside of Truckee. This is the premiere sport climbing crag in the Tahoe area. Fantastic climbing on highly featured basalt. |

| Directions: | South Highway 267 out of Truckee, turn right on Ponderosa Palisades Road, turn right on Silver Fir, then left on Thelin St. From here turn right onto a small forest service road about 500 yards up Thelin. Follow this road for 5.2 miles, turn right into a large logged parking area. Pick up a trail leading NorthWest out of the parking area. Follow for 1 mile. The crag is on the backside of the hill you have to climb up at the end of the trail |
