About Pangea Wall:

The Pangea Wall forms the northern aspect of The Chicken (Hyperion Slab) and consists of a vast expanse of cobbles, inclusions, and knobs. The wall is mostly lower angled with a few steep bulges. The wall is ~ 200 ft high, with the lower portion forming an imposing 20 ft overhang possessing few climbing features. While the Pangea Wall appears relatively moderate in difficulty, it has seen limited exploration. There are numerous anchors atop the wall. Due to its northerly position, the Pangea Wall is shaded and secluded. The wall can be accessed via traverse of the canyon from the south, or by skirting the right (north) side of The Chicken (Hyperion Slab).
Approach: Skirt the south end of The Chicken/Cave Rock and continue west as the trail veers north into the canyon. Hike through the canyon until it opens up at the north end. Look up and right. The wide cobble stubbed face is the Pangea Wall.
Approach Time: 15 minutes from the parking area adjacent to the locked white gate on the road to Rowher Flat OHV area.
