About The Canyon:

The Canyon is a secluded corridor, running north & south, formed by two enormous sandstone conglomerate domes nearest the parking area for Texas Canyon. The Canyon can be accessed from either end, but the southern approach is the most straight forward, by hiking around the southern end of The Chicken (aka Hyperion Slab) and following the trail as it winds north and uphill, between The Egg (left) and The Chicken (right). There are climbs on both the east and west walls of this 8 to 30 ft. wide corridor. Many easy moderates ascend the lower angled east wall, while the west wall holds harder sport routes in the 5.10 - 5.11 range. The Canyon is shaded most of the day.
Approach: Skirt the south end of The Chicken/Hyperion Slab and follow the trail as it winds north and uphill between two large formations. These are The Egg and The Chicken. The long corridor between the formations is The Canyon.
Approach Time: 10 - 12 minutes
